Dearest Mom and Dad,
I will take the greatest of pleasure to answer your letter I received a few days past and say was I glad to hear from you. How is everybody getting along? Fine I hope. Well as for myself I am ok. The sun has been shining today and boy was I glad to see it. It has been so muddy you could hardly get around. Mother, I received the watch and ring you and Aunt Pearl sent me. I sure was glad to get them for I needed a watch. The ring was just a fit for me. Well Mom as men are short I guess I had better close for this time so good by and answer soon.
Your Son, James
P.S. Tell all hello.
